I enjoy presenting my both my nature and figurative subjects in unusual perspectives, which encourage viewers to put aside their habits of perception.  By using sparkling tones set in contemporary environments both the figures and waterscapes become opulent.  I layer textures which allow me to connect the viewer to a stunning appreciation of our natural world.

When I put brush to canvas, I always begin anticipating a certain end result, but the outcome is usually far from what I set out to achieve. To me, this is not a failure, but rather letting the process unveil my inspiration. Painting is a powerful medium, and when I work, I am at peace in a meditative state of mind. To me, my pieces have a melody that sing in an array of colors with a spiritual feel. I believe in letting my work guide me and to accept the composition and colors that it demands to create a lasting piece of visual poetry.

Donna is a graduate of Burnley School of Professional Art in Seattle, WA (1976), and has exhibited constantly while receiving numerous artistic awards. Her visions of nature have resulted in exhibitions in major corporate headquarters as well as having earned a strong following among private collectors and celebrities.

limited editions. Donna is drawn to the Art Deco period, presently,
a time when women found a new level of freedom and self-expression.
These glamorous and interesting women are captured by Donna's
unique use of colors and abstractive style in a combination with
the black and white imagery of the times.
